The closest winery to Sidney is Deep Cove Winery, following the route described on the Local Sights page.

Sea Cider (Cidery; Saanichton)

A nice, mostly flat, 20 to 30 min ride (6 km) south down the Lochside Regional Trail, across the Amity Road pedestrian overpass then through farm country down Central Saanich Road will take you out to Sea Cider.

A longer loop (adds ~4 km)following the Saanichton route to Mount Newton X road up into Saanichton, then circling back down Wallace Road is generally more bike friendly, though an earlier turn off at Central Saanich Road from Mount Newton X Rd following the winery signs will get you there, too.

This route includes shared road shoulders on secondary roadways for the latter third of the route.

Brentwood Bay Wineries

Two wineries open to the public approximately 1 hour (14 km) south  of Sidney in Brentwood Bay include the largest winery on the peninsula, Church and State, which can be reached by taking the Butchart Gardens and Butterfly Gardens Route, it is directly next to the Butterfly Gardens. You can take a route that stays on Wallace Rd until West Saanich Rd, or you can cut down the Willow Way Trail (point B).

Turning left onto West Saanich Road from Keating Cross Road and going past Church and State, then turning left onto Old West Saanich Road, you can reach de Vine winery (point C).

Symphony Vineyards near the start of Oldfield Road can also be reached by turning left onto Keating Cross Road, then right on Oldfield Road (point D). Following Oldfield Road, you will head out into Central Saanich's farm country.
